Walker Hall
Which of the listed players eventually get elected into the baseball Hall of Fame?
After some research I've compiled a short list of players that would probably be considered "borderline" HOFers. Take a look and determine which players you think will eventually get in and those who will not. There is no right or wrong answers so please be respectful.
Curt Schilling
Jeff Bagwell
Jim Thome
Jim Edmonds
Juan Gonzalez
Vladimir Guerrero
Trevor Hoffman
Mike Mussina
Gary Sheffield
Larry Walker
Only two players on your list are eligible at this time.
Larry Walker, a very good player but with drastically inflated numbers because of several seasons worth of playing in Colorado. He is a 50 % maybe.
Mike Mussina, a terrific pitcher with great stats but 30 wins short of 300 wins. At least a 95 % shot.
The others, I consider very good players and may or may not eventually garner enough votes by the Hall of Fame voters.
My favorites from this second group would be Vladimir Guerrero, Gary Sheffield, Trevor Hoffman (who just keeps on and on), and Jeff Bagwell.
I am not a big fan of Curt Schilling, as a few post season overblown heroics are not as impressive as league domination over many years, such as posted by a Mike Mussina.
