Mine is minor compared to those brave warriors fighting in the jungles of Vietnam and the deserts of middleast. Our submarine was almost split in two while surface off the coast of Portugal during A sea trials off the back of race under a ship of freedom to the trailer would have sounded the death knell.
We had a major fire under the bridge. It took almost 24 hours to do it completely off. I was on the Flying Squad. I thought we had trained for some thing, but the fire was almost impossible to beat. Visibility was zero in the smoke and we all had to wear an OBA or suffocate. Another time scary was when I broke up with my girlfriend in Singapore. She left the kitchen swinging a knife. I thought she was going to murder me. I guess she thought the relationship was more serious than I did.
