Iron Stove
I have a cast iron stove, do I remove the grate to burn logs?
It is an Evergreen Stove (Maple) and the adverts on the net state it has a removeable grate for log burning, however the supplied instructions give no advice on whether or not some kind of fire brick is needed for the logs to be put on.
cast iron can not handle alot of high heat, i ruined a stove this way, if you feel you need to remove the grate, please put fire brick on the bottom of the stove, it almost burnt down my house in 96....please be carefule, its not worth losing your life, use the grate, or the firebrick.
