How to clean SEVERELY tarnished silver?
My father has a beautiful goblet to use as Elijah's cup during Passover. All my life, I thought it was brass. The other day, however, I learned that it is actually silver that hasn't been cleaned in over two decades. I have spent almost three hours scrubbing with rags, brass brushes, silver polish, and polishing compound, but the cup is still yellowish and the remaining tarnish refuses to come off. Does anybody have tips on how to polish it further, and then how to keep it from tarnishing after wards? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Get tarn x, it's the only product I ever heard of that's easy to use. They sell it at super markets and maybe a place like Wall Mart. Good Luck.:D
