What kind of glue could I use to fix a broken small plastic plated in antique copper collectible?
I want it to be effective and not messy. This was supposed to be a gift for my Mother in law and it's very fragile. My 4 yr old broke one of the tiny pieces and I'm hoping I can fix it so it won't be so noticeable. http://s57.photobucket.com/albums/g212/S...
To join almost any material, especially plastics, go to WalMart, or your local hardware and get a tube of "Shoe goo", no joke. I would try WalMart or a store like Lowes first as the glue will be fresher. It's about $5.00, and this substance is thick, so place a little on another piece of plastic, and place a little on the end of a toothpick for applying to small objects. Coat both parts to be joined, and make sure it's line up. Try to tape or hold pieces together some other way overnight,
Excess can be cut off with razor blade or sharp knife when dry.
We have used this product on glass, vinyl, wood, leather and metal, and found nothing better. I put some on the handle of a large coffee cup 15 years ago, and it's still holding great, plus patched leaks in air mattress.
